Ministry Organization
Based on the scriptures mentioned earlier, and from Jesus’ own
example, we envision the ministry of the gospel coming together at Immanuel
in the
four ministry areas described below. These ministry areas are the foundation
of our ministry, and are linked in encouraging spiritual growth and facilitating
outreach to others.
The ministry of Immanuel is dedicated to continuing the ministry of Jesus
Christ in today's world. Following the pattern set by Jesus we invite people
to begin and continue a journey of faith in Jesus as Lord and Savior. The “high
bar” of commitment and the “wide arms” of compassion
seen in the life of Jesus is our guide.
| Worship |
Worship is our collective expression of adoration, reverence, and
love for God. We recognize that worship services are often the first
contact non-Christians or new believers have with Immanuel. We commit
that our worship activities will be meaningful to all levels of spiritual
inquiry and maturity. Those who worship at Immanuel will be encouraged
to join us in fellowship. |
| Fellowship |
Fellowship is our gathering together as friends and
family in Christ to encourage, share, and enjoy one another—and
to enfold newcomers to Immanuel. Fellowship activities at Immanuel
will be designed to enable members and non-members who regularly
attend to develop stronger bonds of friendship. Those who share our
fellowship will be encouraged to join us in growing in their faith. |
| Discipleship |
Discipleship is the process of developing spiritual maturity through
Bible reading, classes, seminars, and personal time with God. Discipleship
activities at Immanuel will help prepare anyone who is serious about
his or her Christian faith to grow up in Christ. As people grow in
their faith they will be encouraged to reach out to others. |
| Outreach |
Outreach is how we share through our words and actions the life-changing
message of Jesus. Outreach activities at Immanuel will be carried
out in various ways in our community, in our country, and in our
world. In sharing our faith we will encourage others to join us in
worship. |
